BOOK NOW CHECK AVAILABILITY BLOG Bathing fun at the North Sea Directly "behind the dyke" of the campsite, there is a swimming area in the North Sea, located in the UNESCO World Heritage Wadden Sea. Due to the tides, it unfortunately doesn't have a sandy beach. However, you can enjoy the day on the water-facing side of the dyke at North Germany’s only dry beach – in a traditional beach chair. The artificially created beach is located right next to the campsite. The dry beach was first opened at the dyke in Upleward in late August 2000 and stretches across an area of 9,000 square meters. Here, children can have fun on various playground equipment, while adults relax on the new seating and lounging areas. The beach was completely renovated in 2020 as part of the “Village Renewal 7 Warfendörfer” program and now features attractions such as a pirate ship, water play areas, a volleyball court, and a beach soccer field. A wheelchair-accessible wooden walkway provides access for people with disabilities. Projects like these are partly funded by the local tourism tax, which supports regional development. In case of cold or bad weather, you can visit the Greetsiel Swimming Oasis. With the North Sea Card, you only pay the entrance fee once, and from your second visit onward, you can use the pool for free.
