The unique location offers you a variety of experiences: Wadden Sea: Designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2009, the Wadden Sea invites you to explore the mudflats at low tide. This is exciting for explorers of all ages! Please note: Only hike with a qualified guide. North Sea: At high tide, you can swim directly in the North Sea. Relaxation and active recreation The surrounding area invites you to enjoy active recreation: Activities: The flat landscape is ideal for hiking, inline skating, and cycling. Cycling routes: Attractive themed tours have been developed for cyclists, such as the "Cycling Tour to Pilsum," the "Shell Tour," the "Cycling Tour to the Leysiel Lock," and the "Greetsiel Circular Tour." You'll cycle on small side roads, mostly without steep inclines, and with almost no car traffic. Relaxation through North Sea air The salty, fresh North Sea air is also very good for your health. A varied cycle tour from Camping am Deich to one of the most famous landmarks of East Frisia, the Pilsum lighthouse. We recommend the Outdooractive app for hiking, cycling and more. Pilsumer Leuchtturm The route winds its way through the municipality of Krummhörn and some of its 18 typical villages. Hamswehrum, Groothusen, Manslagt and the destination Pilsum were built as village on a hill to protect against storm floods. The Pilsum Lighthouse was used to light the Emshörnrinne until June 1915. Since 1973 it has been easily recognisable by its red-yellow paint scheme. Today it is owned by the dike guard Krummhörn and can be visited. This income ensures its maintenance. The lighthouse became particularly popular through the film "Otto – Der Außerfriesische" by the comedian Otto Waalkes. In the film the lighthouse serves Otto as a flat. Juist, affectionately known as “Töwerland”, enchants with endless sandy beaches, natural dune landscapes and the soothing tranquillity of a car-free island. Explore the charming island village with its small stores and cozy cafés, stroll along the wide beach or relax on a horse-drawn carriage ride. Relaxation is the top priority here - perfect for anyone who wants to get away from it all. Juist also offers a relaxing experience for dog owners: dogs are welcome on many paths and on the beach. After an eventful day, the return journey takes you comfortably back to Greetsiel, where your North Sea vacation on the dyke continues.

For your comfort, we have provided the following amenities: Sanitary comfort: Showers and washbasins in spacious individual cubicles. Accessibility : Special accessible bathrooms for wheelchair users. For families: Rental family bathrooms with private toilet, shower, washbasin, and hairdryer, as well as a baby bathroom with changing facilities and a baby bathtub. Kids' special: Low washbasins so that even the little ones can reach everything on their own. Organization: Practical shelves in the entrance area for easy shoe changing. Of course, your family dog is an essential part of your camping holiday! Your loyal companion is warmly welcomed here. To ensure a relaxing holiday for both you and your pet, we offer a comprehensive service: Dog-friendly accommodations: Pets are allowed in some of our chalets. We are happy to provide bowls and dog beds upon request. Refreshment & grooming: After an adventure on the mudflats, you can rinse your dog off at our stations. A heated dog shower is located at the entrance in front of reception, and a cold-water shower is available in front of the "Lighthouse" shower block. Cleanliness: Dog waste bag dispensers are located directly on the campsite (approximately 50 meters from the barrier) and about 100 meters outside the park. Our highlight: The fenced dog park Our four-legged guests especially love our own fully fenced dog area right on the campsite. Here, you and your dog can enjoy maximum freedom: Off-leash freedom: In this safe environment, your furry friend can romp and play to their heart's content without a leash. Fun and games: Various play equipment invites exploration and activity – ideal for socializing with other dogs. Relaxation for owners: While your dog plays, you can relax and watch. Discovery tours in East Frisia The expansive landscape around the dike offers ideal conditions for long walks. We're happy to recommend beautiful walking paths and suitable swimming spots where your dog can enjoy the cool waters of the North Sea. This way, your holiday with us will be a truly memorable experience for your dog too! Walking paths for dogs Between the campsite and the Campen Lighthouse, the dike can be entered with a leashed dog. You can take your dog with you on four of the six signposted routes of the Krummhörn-Greetsiel fitness park. In Norddeich (about 35 km away) there is a large dog beach. Here your dog can romp around without a leash. According to the dike guard Krummhörn the following rules apply: According to the Lower Saxony dike law, dogs are not allowed in other dike areas, because sheep have died from being chased by unleashed dogs a few times. Dog excrements can also transmit pathogens to sheep. Some areas (from Campen Lighthouse to our campsite, old dike in Greetsiel) are permitted to carry along leashed dogs in agreement with the shepherds. The instructions of the shepherds and the dike guards must be followed. As we emphasise a good coexistence of humans and animals, we ask for the following: Please remember that there are children and adults who are afraid of dogs. Put your dog on a leash and do not let it run free, even on your stand. Please take special care of children, a dog can be very dangerous for them. Should your dog ever do its business on the campsite, please remove it immediately.
