Since we are located directly on the dike, there isn't a sandy beach, but we have a very special highlight for you: Northern Germany's only dry beach Right next to the campsite, the Upleward dry beach covers an area of 9,000 square meters. Here you can enjoy a relaxing day in a traditional beach chair on the side of the dike facing away from the water. The beach was completely renovated in 2020 and now offers you top-notch attractions: For kids: A giant pirate ship, exciting water features for splashing around, and plenty of space to run around. For sports enthusiasts: A volleyball and beach soccer field for group matches. For those seeking relaxation: New seating and lounging areas for unwinding. Accessible: A wooden boardwalk provides easy access to the beach area for wheelchair users. Good to know: Such fantastic projects are partly financed by your visitor's tax, which goes directly towards the tourism development and maintenance of our beautiful region. Please provide us with the license plate number of your towing vehicle in advance so you can drive directly to your pitch. Departure: Please depart by 12:00 PM. This allows us to carry out the necessary cleaning and mowing so the campsite is ready for the next guests. Electricity Notice: Please note that the operation of air conditioners and heaters, as well as the charging of electric vehicles, is not permitted via the general electrical grid of our campsite to prevent damage. The village center of the "Warfendorf" Upleward is characterized by small, quaint single-family houses and large farms grouped around a gothic church. The coastal areas near the village are protected by dikes. Due to the tides, the village has no sand beach, but tourists can look forward to playing beach volleyball, enjoing the sunny day in the beach basket and building sandcastles at North Germany's unique beach behind the dike. A good infrastructure and over 1200 years of city history invite you to linger. The city is easily accessible by bicycle. Emden offers a comprehensive cultural program and a wide range of events for explorers. In the East Frisian country museum, culture enthusiasts can get their money's worth and the Emden harbor can be explored with a boat trip. From here you can also take a ferry to Holland. As the funniest Ostfriesland hint we recommend a museum where you can laugh: "Dat Otto Huus" shows the career of the comedian Otto Waalkes from Emden.
